“May the Lord bless you from Zion all the days of your life; may you see the prosperity of Jerusalem, and may you live to see your children’s children.”
Psalm 128: 5-6

Our Senior Adult ministry, encompassing ages 55 and over, is aptly called the “Golden Years” ministry. Remembering how greatly servants such as Moses, Abraham and Sarah were used of God in the latter years of their lives, our hope at Putnam is to provide a place for mature adults to fellowship together, to grow in the Lord, and to pass along His great love and wisdom to the generations that follow. Here are some of the exciting things happening through our Golden Years Ministry:

*Monthly Meetings, featuring a special program coordinated by Betty McIntyre.

Join us each month as we enjoy a potluck dinner, followed by an intriguing program which in the past has covered everything from geology to fire safety for seniors. Also, we plan to go out to eat, once a quarter, to build friendships and renew old ties. Golden Years is currently meeting the third Tuesday night of each month, except for months during which special events are planned.

*Getaways!

Board the bus for exciting trips with one of the most funloving groups of folks here at Putnam. In the Fall, we plan an Autumn Trip to the Blue Ridge mountains, where we enjoy the breathtaking beauty of the Fall leaves, shop at leisure at the Farmer’s Market, and of course eat!

Probably the most anticipated trip of the year is our Beach Excursion scheduled for each May. We begin our days in Bible Study with the Pastor, then spend our free time playing Rook, watching the waves roll in from the oceanfront rooms, shopping or just making memories.
