“O God, You are my God; I shall seek you earnestly; my soul thirsts for You, my flesh yearns for You, as in a dry and weary land where there is no water.”
- Psalm 63:1
Can you get a picture in your mind of a man in a desert longing for a drink of water? His mouth is dry; his energy is drained; there is no other thought upon his mind - he so desperately needs the life sustaining water. The Psalmist so beautifully communicates his longing and desperate need for the Living Water that can only satisfy. Do you desire and need the Lord so much that you thirst and yearn for Him?
It is my desire that my relationship with the Lord grows to the depth of the one mentioned here in Psalm 63. In addition to seeing my own relationship with the Lord grow to this depth, God has given me a vision of seeing others experience this great satisfaction that comes from an intense, personal relationship with the Lord. Are you ready to leave the shallow, superficial life that comes when you go it alone, and experience the true life that comes from earnestly seeking Him? |
