Putnam was established in October 1949 with nineteen charter members who were led by God to start a Church in their community. Since its earliest days Putnam has continued to grow both spiritually, structurally, and numerically. In October 1999 at its 50th Anniversary Celebration, Putnam was challenged to:

• Remember the sacrifice behind us

• Resist the complacency among us

• Renew the spirit within us

• Respond to the vision before us

From that special service to the present, Putnam has responded to the challenge, seeing attendance and budget more than double and more than 160 coming to know Jesus Christ as their Savior and Lord. Each year the numbers increase of those participating in mission trips and equipping classes growing in their faith in Christ.
